Before you somewhat oldies go "OMG NO NOT MEEPNETWORKS STUFF" think for a minute, sheesh.

Freelance was a world in MeepNetworks(the meep before the current) which was a plot world. No, not creative plots. Plots where you are in survival and can build stuff on a plot with your items from towny(it might have been linked with factions in MN, dont remember). I think this would be a good idea for people who want to live with a few friends and not pay an extrme price for a small town.

A freelance plot could cost 25k and donators can buy two plots. There is also a small tax of 50 meebles a day.
Plots will be 64x64(aka 4 chunks, or towny plots).

It shouldn't be THAT hard to add and I think it could benefit in many ways.

All that I remember was the MCMMO was with factions, so I think it was between factions. Either way, I would rather have a server dedicated to something better (factions). But don't get me wrong, I love the idea.

To clarify:

Freelance had McMMO, no faction support
There was 2 worlds, a world muchlike creative in visual, except not in creative, and a wild world.

The inventory between THAT wild world, and the plot world were linked, nowhere else.

It also had a seperate currency, the byte

It seems extremely redundant to link it with the towny inventory, why not just get 4 plots in any town already in towny? :) The point of freelance was it wasn't linked.

I would recommend owning your own town as a single resident of it. -- I don't think opening an entire new world to save 200,000 meebles is worth it.

A simple vanilla server/world would be pretty nice if it was totally excluded from the Towny system.

However, towns are very cheap if you're buying them from another player and in most cases you'll find a seller pretty quickly - so there's simply no need for this.

-1 towny is way better than freelance... also freelance is more of a thing prison servers use.

A way for players to play with the economy aspects of the server without being forced to join a town initially would greatly benefit the server's growth, as it would enable players to be able to learn the basics of the server without being forced to become involved in the community. However, I think it would be a good idea to limit the items players can use on their freelance plots, as it would force them to use towns should they want to build larger and more complex creations.

The only thing I remember about this world that I liked was the fact that I could go into that wild world and make a makeshift faction in it with the party system freelance had. I would like to see this feature return, it was fun running a faction, especially when the base is virtually undetectable do to the fact you couldn't claim land in freelance.

I agree. Make freelance for noobs, and then us regular members can use towny.
