Introduction: Hello! I'm Shain, as most of you know. I'm 18 years old, and just began my first semester in college. With my recent move, I'm now located in Chicago, and plan on living here for quite some time. I'm a music major and musical theatre minor. I plan on going to grad school to get my teaching degree after this.
I planned on applying sooner. As my colleagues and many players know, my computer shut down and wouldn't turn on, so I had to order a new one. I could only get on at the library and barely had time for that. I'm back now, and so here we go:
Why you should be Mod?
I've been helper for three weeks now, and I think it's time to move up, here's why:
1. Activity: Although I had a broken computer, my activity before and after have proven to be quite active. Even with the broken computer, I used my phone and the library (as I said) to keep up with the forums, teamspeak, staff meetings, staff skype, and occasionally in game when I was able to.
2. Dedication: At any point when I was available, I went to the library to play in game and help with modreqs. I did it between classes and after classes until it closed. I think this displays my dedication to my job and how dedicated I would be as a mod.
3. Modreqs: While it has decreased since starting college, I still manage to keep up with many modreqs. I have gotten into the flow of things doing them efficiently, while still doing them effectively. Many people have commented on my thoroughness and ability to do them well.
4. Involvement: I'm involved on every aspect of the server at all times. I'm always keeping up with skype and forums when I'm not at my computer, and when I'm at my computer, I'm always on TS and in game.
Weaknesses:
1. Assertiveness: This has continued to be a problem for me. Not so much in game, but on teamspeak and the forums. On both platforms, users have a group of friends that often gang up on you. It has been difficult for me to be the bad guy at some points, but I've been working hard on this.
2. Stress: Since college, I've been under a great deal of stress. It hasn't really affected my game play yet, but it's possible it will.
Conclusion:
I feel as though I've been prepared enough for Mod, and I've been working very hard to be prepared. I've asked many questions along the way, and I'm starting to see myself being the one to answer the questions for the new helpers, and I think that, along with all my reasons up there, is a good sign that I'm ready for Mod.
Thank you for your time.
