When someone joins a town they should be auto tped to the town spawn. New players often don't know this command. (Eww... Who reads signs ?!?!?!?) You aren't able to do anything in the towny wild so there is no real use of just staying there. It's frustrating for both the new player and town staff. The new player doesn't know what to do. The town staff try to tell them to do the command with town chat and also msging but often they don't notice. Often the staff try for minutes but eventually give up and the new player leaves the server as they think that it's confusing and has nothing to do when in reality it's all because they didn't type a command.

Do /t spawn to arrive at your new town!" would suffice.
EDIT: I have accepted many invites where I would not want to be auto tp'd.
