My list. The following is not a list of skill but of the PvPers that deserve recognition for how memorable they were in my experiences. They are ordered in the order that I met each player, as best as I can remember. I'm merely back here on a nostalgia trip so don't expect to see me around any time soon but here this goes.
Narcarsis – I was friends with him irl an in fact the account that he used was an old alt of mine. Some of you might have remembered it best as Surrendered but that was after he quit Minecraft altogether. We joined back to MeepCraft after I said I remember a server that I had fond memories of. Memories of lag, but of good fun too. This was back in 2012.
@xtJunior – Narcarsis and I thought it was a good idea to use Strength pots in the terrarium. To my knowledge, I thought they were allowed. We ended up killing some noobs with our op buff but we never made it out since we were trash back then and CTF was difficult for us. Junior was Helper and ran some prism searches. What a good guy (he didn't ban me lol). I eventually met him on TeamSpeak but he never really pvped until our friend group kind of pulled him into it. Though he never was really great at PvP, but that doesn't matter, he'll always be a beaner in my heart
@BaM_Nitro – We parted on quite a sour note, but he was the first person I talked to on TeamSpeak when I returned from my two year Meep-hiatus. Being Canadian and all, he was quick to tell you he was a nice guy, which he was. I feel there were times though as he transitioned into the PvP scene that he became toxic and too drawn into it, but I did too. Stepping away from it make me realize how unaware my actions were. We had many good times together and after what I last said, I'd like to say I'm sorry to this guy.
@metr0n0me – When I was trying to learn how to PvP and I had gotten a little bit of practice in at CTF, I got a little bit braver and went to old Kit PvP. Metr0n0me was different than the other players that were there in that he actually wanted to have a fair fight. I remember a really long bow battle I had with him, which I'm pretty sure I lost after we each shot like over a hundred arrows. He always was worried about doing the right thing and often underestimated the extent of his ability, but he was one of the few that I talked to until the very end.
SCMilky – This guy I spoke to only briefly. He brought me onto a real competitive PvP server when he found me in Meep's Kit PvP, thinking I had potential. I got trashed in a match of No Debuff and Gapple, mostly because I didn't know how to eat a gapple, but without this, I wouldn't have known that there were other servers to practice PvP on.
Proteker – When I met him, he was XxPandaRampagexX. At one point I mentioned the PvP server SCMilky took me to and Proteker made it his goal to teach me PvP. He is the reason I learned to jitter click and the reason I now have arthritis....just kidding. Memorable phrases include "You guys are the worst friends ever," followed by disappearing for three weeks or so. Jokes aside, there were many ping-filled times with this guy.
JammedPiston, @SwagUnitedFC, & ChaaseOG – These three were basically always together since they were irl friends. I met them after I had become Helper and had just happened to be in the same channel as them. There were many good and toxic PvP matches to be had with them. They all sort of fell off the face of Minecraft once school started last fall.
@DV___VS___H – "Quick-drop, please." The last time I remember fighting him was the first time I ever beat him in nodebuff without a quick drop. Memorable, yet can't spell worth his life....remember the days of KorenHacker my fair reader.
@Bluapol – Accidentally banned this guy for really sketchy latency and because I had (and still do though to a lesser extent) a big ego, clearly meaning I know exactly what hacks are. xtJunior and I eventually made it up to Bluapol and became friends with him. I remember when I started PvPing in kit thinking he was untouchable. Back in the day, like 2012, everyone always seemed to straight-line. Bluapol was the first person I encountered that ever strafed. It was cool to eventually become good enough to actually contend with him on equal footing, narrowly beating him in a gapple match on another server. He also makes awesome banners, many thanks.
@Escanor – More often playing against him than with him, he was always quite the little nerd. It was quite cathartic though to give him all of my stuff when I officially retired off of Meep. I always kept a sort of angst against him that didn't need to exist. Such is the problem of playing video games unconsciously I guess.
@Lemoh – The god of the rod, at least in my opinion. I don't think I ever beat him actually, except for maybe a few times in HG where I got lucky. The guy's great at building and is a great person to boot. I think when I first talked to him it was when Window_Licker and I....I mean, just I, survived with only my Chestplate in Terrarium after taking a beating from two other decently known PvPers of the time.
@Redolwolf & Cherrykit – I met these two I think after I had become Mod. BaM and I were hanging out in a channel with them and they were pretty cool people. Redolwolf was another player that was so good when I was just starting out that I thought hacked. Too many pro strafes. When Redul came back from his Osu! hiatus, it was always amusing to hear him belittle himself saying how he was no good at all. Though flattery is nice, overall Redolwolf was always a much better PvPer than I ever was, plus his Osu! skills are sick. Cherry's just as good if I recall. Some of the nicest and soft-spoken people I have met online.
@legendcaleb – Let me tell a story. Back in the summer of 2015, Narcarsis and I were online and there was this player named Legendcaleb. Toxicity poured out of this guy like a Volcanic_ eruption ;). Fast forward a few months or so, I was all of a sudden a Mod. He was ban evading and kept tiptoeing around me to see if I knew what he was doing. Naturally, I had a hard time trusting the guy at first. Yes, there were many things he did to piss me off from time to time, but we worked through them. Our matches always seemed to be close but he always would end up beating me. I hope that one day he puts all of his sweat from PvP ladders into something that contributes back to the world because he has the something in him that I think can do just that.
@Cyclops – This guy was always very direct in the way he told others how to drink bleach. I could never beat this guy either. The closest I got was just before I quit, which interestingly enough was when he wanted to record a fight for his YouTube channel. Check him out, he makes some pretty good quality videos.
I might edit this later if I've found I've forgotten someone terribly important, but late at night like it is, I think I've said everything I wanted to.
