The new borders in the nether are being temporarily dropped for two days. Please retrieve any items outside the borders before then!

The nether will not be reset due to this, but we will also not be refunding any items lost outside the borders after these two days.

To add: The wilds (including nether) may reset at any time, and item you put in there you may risk losing at any time, without notice.

In order to shrink the nether, borders were placed around it so that you may only explore in a certain area.
