I see this more as a purchase disguised as a donation. Using your logic, I could start a business, and claim our products as donations keeping the business running.

This is a purchase much like you getting a $50 copy of a $15.99 DVD from PBS is when you donate to it, and I'd imagine just as rude asking for the money back months later.

I'm honestly not sure if this is a joke, or if it is legitimately devoid of any thought put into it.
