What if there was a maximum balance that everyone could have? This might be a terrible idea but I’m giving it a shot anyways. There could either be a maximum server-wide limit or it could be based on rank with set increments the higher the rank. I’m going to use a 10 000 000 meeble limit for everyone for arguments sake. Towns and nations could follow the same system and should have the same limit as the owner, for example 10mil for player, 10mil for town and 10mil for nation. This is up for debate of course and towns or nations could have higher limits or whatever seems to be fitting.
My thinking is this…
If there is a limit on your meeble balance it would force you to invest in valuables like gold, diamonds etc. so that you do not lose any profits after hitting the 10mil mark. It would also help with the supply/demand problem of things like gold where everyone is mainly selling and not buying. The bank could then actually be used more often by players depositing and withdrawing funds as needed.
What about current player balances?
Give a month’s notice before it would be implemented to give them a chance to invest their money elsewhere. Then wipe any balances down to 10mil if they do not comply by the determined date.
Pros?
- Hopefully solving some of the issues regarding money in and out of the server.
- Make gold trading more realistic and an actual investment.
- People will stop complaining about the richer players because there won’t be a number value to their fortune easily obtainable.
Cons?
- Might backfire and inflate/deflate values by extreme margins.
- People are fond of their balances and /baltop standings and might complain.
- Spiteful/ragequitting players may cause havoc by selling all their stockpiled valuables at once. (Could be prevented by putting a limit on daily transaction amount)
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Any more pros or cons that you can think of? Suggestions on how to overcome the cons?
