I would be elated if that were the case. LOL. Snow biomes are the devil's handiwork.
Ideally I think it'd be interesting as a /t toggle weather. My main issue with weather is that it's difficult to see/build when it's pouring. In the wild, it adds a sense of danger, the survival aspect to it – to not knowing if there's a mob behind the tree because the rain impacts vision/hearing.
Regardless of what gets chosen, there are options available. One can simply turn off rain in optifine, removing the sound file from the pack, etc. My main concern at this point is whether rain eggplants the server, or if its a user-by-user situation.

As far as I know, rain doesn't put any extra load on the server. At least, I haven't noticed it on my own server.

Yes, and no. Regardless, it has it's pro's/con's but either way, it will create the eggplant we all despise.

Rain creates client side lag, not server side.

But say, for example, your town is in a snowy biome but unfortunately there's no snow that falls there...ever...wouldn't that be sad?

How about we disable rain in Towns, and enable it in the wild. That way, everybody is happy.

I'd prefer it in the wild but not in towns. Then again I would actually like the snow if my town were in a snow
biome. But considering the lag I get I vote no.

I wouldn't want to get rid of rain or thunder from towny. Its a nice change pace. I hate it whenever anything is that same all the time.

Weather makes it feel more realistic, and if it left how would we get that thin layer of snow on blocks?

Not in towny, only in wild too (Dangerous place and this place we expect to meet some monster.). Or as before, on event.

Those thunder and infinite storm force us to lower volume. Then after while, if a staff want to do an event, like a thunder, we don't hear them anymore with lower volume.

I'm all for getting rid of snow/rain/thunderstorms in towny for the purely selfish reason that my town seems to have thunderstorms on the daily and they're becoming increasingly more annoying.

I love the weather and if it goes away I'ma rain dance till it comes back! It adds another element to the game and if u are lagging it is cuz ur internet or computer sucks lol. I get no lag at all from rain.
