There are some practical things to figure out on this, but I'm +1 on the concept. If akin to skyblock /auc, you can toggle it off.

+1 As long as it's in a separate chat to see. Like do /c auc and then you see a bunch of auctions happening. Then you do /c normal and its regular again. Idk

There would be a queue of 5 Slots maybe and if those slots are full you would have to wait till the current auction has ended.

Exactly.
In skyblock, everything is valuable.
However, it's different in towny. There could be many people auctioning dirt either just to be trolls or just very desperate for money. These guys would swallow up all the slots. Maybe don't allow certain items like dirt, stone, and cobble to be auctioned?

As some of you may know, in skyblock there is a command that allows you to sell items through the skyblock world/server. ( /auc) I really enjoy this command because it lets me sell items without having to tpa to someone or them tpa to me. This avoids lag after /tpa, confusion of how much the item is, avoids the chest shop, and is easer to advertise or sell items. I think that if /auc was added to towns A and B it would boost the amount of items sold and traded. I think that it could help boost meeps economy and amount of players on the server.
This could be a cool addition to the server in the future!:D

LOL, this is so funny, I go to forums, go to suggestions all just to post this amazing idea I had, just to find out it was literally posted just yesterday. Yes, I agree this is something that needs to be implemented if they are serious about keeping things the way they are. However I would recommend doing a min quantity of Items eligible for sale maybe 640, if not the auction will be spammed with 1 or 2 item counts. Also I would even go so far as to suggest they have a private chat line for this, you would do something like /enter auction.

I think they could easily add /auc ignore to make it not spammy. And I really don't think it will ruin chest shops. Just because theres all ready thousands of them and /auc won't kill chest shops. People might use /auc to their advantage of not having to go through chest shops. But I know that when i'm in skyblock I don't like to go out and look for the chest shops and then find what I'm looking for. I just ask around and someone will auction what I need. Then I write down who had the item so I can ask them if they have any more of the item at a later time. Theres my two sense on that.leodavinci900~ I do agree.

I was going to use this to auction things like enchanted items and books just because it is hard to get the chest shop to work correctly, and I think it is easer then advertising it (the item) then trying to sell it. You just auction it off.

K9_Caper was saying that there could be a different chat option that you could toggle in a way. /auction toggle /auc toggle /chat normal /c toggle Something kinda like that.

This is under consideration. I can't vouch for the feasibility of it, or if it'd even get done. I think it would be potentially cool if we could implement it in some neutral way, to not kill chest-shops, and not be too spammy/abuse ridden.
