connection refused

When trying to open the website with my browser of choice (chrome) and the server in minecraft, i get a connection refused message.

This started shortly after i made my last post in the marketplace at 421pm.

I am able to bring the website up on my phone, but that doesnt do me a whole lot of good. Virus and malware scans came up empty. I reset my browser and disabled firewalls. I restarted my dsl router (gives me a new ip address) and the computer...

Has something happened with the site/server or am i looking for a ghost in my machine?

Im at a complete loss then. I have done everything i know to try to remedy the problem, but most signs indicate its not on my end... unless its an issue with my isp, but it seems odd that only one site would be refused...

Any ideas?

It may be helpful if you could post a photo of the page. Just take a photo of your computer with your phone.

Nope, just made the marketplace post, then made dinner and watched some tv. Came back to mine more, and got that.

What type of Windows are you using? Vista? 7?

I7 3770
32gb ram
Gtx650 video card

The machine is no slouch and 10 or 11 months old. Again, no errors, issues, malware, viruses...I was able to briefly see the website and server in minecraft by adding "www." In the front, but that only worked for about a minute, then connection refused again.

The only thing i can think of is server side issues of some kind.

I can ask around, but I don't know what would be causing this. I don't know much about computers, unfortunately.

I have been always using http://meepcraft.com/ to acces the site. Right now I haven't been able to get on until i tryed out the http://www.meepcraft.com adress.

Might help you too.

That helped briefly last night, and seemed to work this morning.

This leads me to believe that something is/was going on with the domain and/or forwarding settings.

Multiple people so i've heard, including myself have had the same problem. Someone told me they were looking into it last night. Might have fixed it by now.

I have had this same issue actually. I find that using a proxy has helped me get through most of it. However, I don't know the permanent solution. Try clearing your cookies and trying again. If not, try on a different browser and see if there is better luck there.
Even though the best browser in the world is by far chrome.

It is working normally for me now, and has since this morning. Im just relieved that 1) I wasnt the only person experiencing this. And 2) That the issue has seemingly resolved itself.

Like i said earlier, it had to be something on the server/hosting side. I appreciate the responses!

Yeah a lot of people were having the exact issue, someone on ts told me yesterday that they had already reported it and were working it out.

For what its worth... i wish there would be more communication about issues like this, and others that impact the game server. That way people can see that there may be issues and not pull out their hair thinking there are isp or personal computer issues. A short post in the news feed could do wonders.
