Introduction:
Hello, I’m Skaros123, and I’ve decided to apply for Helper. I was here when the new MeepCraft was created, and was granted Mod on July 12th during its opening. I first got accepted as a Helper in MeepNetworks in early May of last year, and continued staffing for about 4 months. I became a SuperMod in August and resigned in September because of real life. I’m a 16 year old high school student and I’m almost done with my sophomore year.
Why you should be Helper?
I’ve learned a lot from my time as staff. I’ve grown to learn my strengths and weaknesses when moderating a server. I’m best with investigations and PR. I’m good with /modreqs as well. I’m very familiar with how to manage a modreq and how to properly assess an issue. I’ve gone through a lot of modreqs before, and it’s almost become my second nature to be a first responder when someone needs assistance. Even now, I would respond to someone in shout how to do something when they ask.
I’ve never been reprimanded, nor have I been reported during my time as staff in the current Meep. I attribute this to my PR skills, as I’ve learned it is important to be rational when dealing with people’s issues. People go through a lot of mood swings when they have a major issue that affects them, and thoroughly resolving the problem is essential. At times, communication with the player base is more about being one’s friend, than being one’s instructor. People want to feel close to the person who is helping them, which is why the way I present myself to people is important to me.
I’m quite familiar with HawkEye and how to use it to it’s full potential. I have grown used to the commands needed to properly complete a minor investigating in the shortest amount of time. I’m also familiar with the rules and am capable of determining a reasonable temp ban time for players who have broken the rules. I’ve learned from past experience that not all cases are black and white. There’s a bigger picture behind broken rules, and it’s important to make a judgement call based on the overall picture.
What I look
Weaknesses:
I can sometimes hold grudges on people. Although, I’m learning to forgive and forget, I can still sometimes hold grudges on people based on their past actions. I try not to let it interfere with how I converse/interact with the person.
I can become easily defensive. At times, this can be a detriment for me. I may be paranoid about the outcome of a discussion with someone and begin jumping to conclusion. However, I tend not to be like this in game. Paranoia is one of my weaknesses, but I try not to show it.
I’m not always able to get on Teamspeak at any given point in the day. I’m usually able to use it within the few 2-4 hours of me being logged on. Otherwise, there may be too much going on in RL for me to properly communicate with people. This isn’t always the case, but it indeed does happen.
Conclusion:
This is why I believe I would make a qualified helper on MeepCraft. I have months worth of experience and I’ve adjusted to learning to develop my skills.
