Introduction:
Hello, those of you who have heard of me before and those who haven’t I’m happy that you are reading this. To begin, my name is Reginald and I’m a Entrepreneurship and Financial Analysis Major at Clarkson University. I have just finished my first year of college and I’ve enjoyed every moment. Currently, I have found that my time this summer should be enjoyed and my previous experiences as a staff member were some of the most fun and exciting times I have had on Meepcraft.
Why you should be Helper/Mod ?
In looking into the staff position I find myself very well endowed, not only with knowledge and experience but also with skills that greatly influenced my previous success. To begin, I have been a staff member on meepcraft before where I started as helper and moved my way up to super mod where I was given many chances to create and revise techniques for moderating. One of the first revisions that I undertook at that time was the creation of the meepcraft staff permission, which I’m sure have changed. In addition I also worked on the development of adding to the existing rank features which I see have been used and enjoyed fully. These experiences are not what I believe a helper should be use to doing however these experiences have prepared me for using the tools at my disposal to complete the job that might be required of me.
In regard to the knowledge that is needed to be efficient at the position of helper I know that I have what is needed if not more than that. As it might not be well known I was part of the staff when the new tools for moderating player was implemented and at that time I wrote a well rounded thread on the forum for staff member. It encompasses command and methodologies for catching people that have committed illegal acts and discovering illegal acts that haven’t yet been uncovered. I hope that this is still in use but if not it should still suffice as proof that I do hold the proper knowledge that is needed for any moderating position.
Finally, what I believe to be the most important is the skills that can’t be taught. For those of you who don’t know the one on one personal interaction is the most important part of being a moderator. I believe that this is the thing that can make or break a potential staff member because of how tough it is to teach someone this. I am faithful that I have not just acquired this skill from my many months of moderation but I want to believe it was the reason why I lasted so long as a moderator in the first place. In addition, I have found after coming back that my I left an imprint on the community here so much that they have welcomed me back so quickly and so fully. Thank you guys, I love seeing and talking to you all yet again.
Overall I thinking I would bring a well rounded member to the staff team that would not only be fully trained in the commands and expectations but also someone who is prepared to take on more responsibilities when the time comes. In addition I would be another member that would constantly be providing suggestions for improving the server and its conditions.
Weaknesses:
As I have said before the one on one interactions can make or break a moderator, and it would silly me not to include this as a weakness. As I have a great deal of experience with this I can not completely say that I have mastered this. I still have had many unsuccessful arguments with other members of the community and the outcomes have been hurt full to both sides. This does not mean I can’t improve, in fact I will most definitely improve on this no matter what the outcome of this is.
Another one of my major weaknesses is becoming to content with power. In the past I have tried to spread the power of the staff to more and more members of the team in the hope that they will embrace responsibility. This responsibility I haven’t had any serious issues it was only small instances where I used force tp instead of tp accept or fly in spawn to move around faster. Still, I want to list this as a weaknesses because some people might see this as abuse of power and If any individual has an issue with this I would like to fix it.
Finally, I would like to put that I have had bad experiences with obeying some rules. I have been banned before and those were not good times for me in game. I must also say this is in the past and after the long break I took for school it will not happen again.
Conclusion:
To conclude, I have had wonderful experiences with the meepcraft server and community and I have given back before and I would like to return to giving back. I believe my addition to the staff team would be the addition of a huge asset and hopefully another successful reinstatement to staff.
