Hello Meepers!

We hope everyone has been doing well with the break away from Meep. On January 2nd, MeepCraft went down to undergo a massive overhaul to bring it to a newer version of Minecraft. Over the past two weeks, staff have put in hundreds of hours in multiple capacities: rebuilding the entire backend infrastructure and servers, configuring plugins, working on the new Spawn, bug testing, and updating the community with information. I am very proud of what this staff team has accomplished between busy work, school, and life schedules.

Today, the team brings Meepers some very exciting news to share with you all! MeepCraft is now on Minecraft version 1.16.4 and will be open to players starting January 15th, 2021 around 8pm EST.

With all of the effort over the past two weeks comes many major changes, bug fixes, new content, and even more to come soon! So let’s dive in to a quick summary of changes:

1.16 & New Se[SIZE=5]rver Infrastructure [/SIZE]
Of course with the leap from 1.12.2 to 1.16.4 comes all new vanilla features, here are the patch notes for each new version:

As many of you are aware, we have moved Meep’s ability to connect multiple servers together from Lillypad to BungeeCord. We have since fixed bugs and issues such as:

Major lag
Being stuck in the void
Having to spam /warp
PvP knockback
Potion delays
Anticheat lagback
Issues with /mail
Firework elytras

New Spawn

After 5 months of building, our spectacular architect team is releasing our 2021 Spawn! It was built by @Adrian , @teddypines, @Achrow, @Candy_Master, @Synergizer, @andrewrobins . It was designed to be easy to navigate and contain engaging content for all players.

This spawn contains the following:

NPC Portals
Donor Club
Terrarium
The Dungeon!
Splegg
TNT Run
Creepers on Ice
Museum with portals to 2013,14,15,16-20, and 2020 Spawns
Elytra Course
Skyblock Island - SkyBlock coming soon!

Changes to Towny & The Economy
A couple of changes have been made to towny and towny related worlds:

Towny border has been expanded to 12,000 blocks to allow chunk generation for new biomes and items. (/warp towns)
The Resource world has been reset. (/warp resource; /warp wild)
Towny Nether and End have been reset. The end island built by the community remains intact!
VIP+ can access the Donor-Exclusive Nether and End in Donor Spawn. (/warp donor; /donor)
The Dungeon, added back from 2014 Spawn, is a PvP and PvE based gamemode where players enter the dungeon to loot as many chests as possible while being hunted by other players and mobs! (/warp dungeon)
Fisherman Job has been renamed to Diver.
/warp jobs has been tweaked to contain more info
Server broadcasts have been updated
Everyone now has more sethomes! See CluelessKlutz’s Donor Guide for updated details.
Player Warps have been overhauled with a new plugin.
- Do /pwarps for a GUI and /pwarp help for a list of commands
Old Vouchers will no longer work. However, you can trade them in with the villager trader at /warp vouchers to receive working versions.

Other Updates

Parkour
- New version of the lobby has been released. This new design was built bac during the original revamp but was allocated for another project. We bring it to you in an attempt to require you to warp less and make the gamemodes easier to understand.
- The old progression lobby system has been overhauled.
- Parkour map built by @andrewrobins
When using /homes or /homeslist, you will now see your homes sorted by world, to make it easier to remember!
Tab is now combined across servers, showing everyone who is online at the same time.
Rules
- Our old rules were a bit long and tedious to read. We have a shortened version which will be posted on forums and discord soon.
Many command changes and updates that the staff team will be happy to help you through.

Looking Into the Future
We would like to give you a look into what you can possibly expect to come to Meep in the coming months.

Jobs rework: we will be updating jobs to include some of the new blocks, change the balance and synergies of jobs, and make use of some new features in the plugin.
Minigames: A few days ago, EnergyAssassin polled the community on Discord to see what minigames you would like to see on Meep. If you haven’t already, it is not too late to vote. Currently, Skyblock is in 1st place and Airship is in 2nd place. We are looking into implementing these in the coming weeks. However, that doesn’t mean old favorites will be forgotten!
